IPC’s twin launch into celeb market

By Press Gazette

Teen Now: spin-off from Now

IPC is strengthening its grip on the celebrity market with the launch of a home interest title Celebrity Living and a teen version of Now.

Celebrity Living promises to feature decorating tips from the designers “who style the stars’ homes” and offer an insight into celebrity’s homes.

The announcement comes a week after the launch of Celebrity Homes by Bath-based Merricks Media.

Celebrity Living will launch with a cover price of £1.80, 20p less than Celebrity Homes. However, the IPC title will not make its debut until 20 May. It will then be followed by a July issue, after which it will go monthly.

Tammy Butt, former editor of Jaunt, has returned to IPC to edit Celebrity Living and is joined by Nicky Phillips (former Living etc deputy editor) on interiors, contributing editor Carole Wallace (former editor of US People), art director Adrian Broadway (former art editor on Jaunt and Loaded) and Alex Gorton (former entertainment editor of In Style).

IPC is also testing the market with the Now spin-off TeenNow. It has the same gossipy tone as Now but is written for teenagers. Priced £1.50, the 92-page title includes an interview with Busted and posters of The Darkness, 50 Cent and Peter Andre.

The gossip pages include EastEnders star Christopher Parker talking about his large member in “Willy Big Crisis”.
