Iorwerth Roberts - Reporter, columnist and feature writer at the Liverpool Daily Post

Former colleagues attended the packed chapel and crematorium
services for retired Liverpool Daily Post journalist Iorwerth Roberts.

was with the Post for 35 years as a reporter, columnist and feature
writer. He died last month, aged 72, while visiting Dubai, where his
son works.

A proud Welshman, he was an honorary member of the
Gorsedd of Bards of the National Eisteddfod. Brought up on a hill farm,
his first job was with the Denbigh Times as a reporter.

He joined
the Post from a weekly paper at Stockport. After a spell as district
reporter for the Daily Post and Echo in Widnes and Runcorn he
transferred to North Wales, covering Bangor, where he lived for more
than 30 years, and Anglesey. He retired in 1997 and he and his wife
Rona, who have two sons, then moved to Deganwy, near Llandudno.
