The Guardian is launching a new monthly international magazine from the end of the year.
Guardian Monthly, to be edited by former Independent journalist Jessica Moore (pictured) and will be available on subscription and from selected newsstands in mainland Europe priced E3.50.
It will contain lifestyle-themed content from the Guardian and Observer magazines and has been designed by the Guardian’s creative director, Mark Porter
Publisher Will Ricketts said: “Guardian Monthly is a blend of the very best magazine writing in Britain, made available for the first time in one publication for an overseas audience. We already have a loyal international readership and the thought-provoking, stimulating content of Guardian Monthly, focusing on culture, lifestyle and people, will bring a new element of choice to the market.
"Under Jessica’s editorship the title will be an exceptionally strong package. She brings with her a wealth of experience in magazine journalism and production and has some great ideas for increasing reader engagement and interactivity. “
For the past five years Moore has worked as a journalist and editor for The Independent, most recently as editor of Independent Educational Publishing (IEP), producing magazines including UK Life, Opportunity and the Student Survival Guide. She has also worked on a variety of health, consumer and lifestyle supplements for The Independent and worked as a freelance journalist.
The title will be promoted on and offline via advertising, sampling and direct mail.
