Future appoints new editor for tech website T3.com

Leading gadget and technology title T3 has named deputy editor Mark Mayne as its new website editor.

The move follows last month’s promotion of Kieran Alger, who previously held the position, to editor-in-chief.

According to the magazine’s publisher, Future, the T3 website has had 2.1m unique users and 9m global page impressions on a monthly basis in 2013, which it described as “the most successful year in T3.com’s history”.

Alger said: “Mark’s been an asset to the team as Deputy Editor, T3.com for the past five years and his step up to Editor of T3.com will come as no surprise to those who’ve worked with him during that time. The hard work, experience, excellence and commitment he’s shown have been truly commendable and I’m really looking forward to working with Mark as we continue to grow the digital part of the T3 business.”

Mayne said he was looking “Future's strong digital vision into a still greater editorial and commercial success.”

He added: “We have a brilliant team here, and it will be a pleasure to continue to build on our award-winning brand.”
