Ferrari up as digital radio listeners rise

By Press Gazette

More than half the adult population listens to radio on
digital platforms, this morning’s RAJAR figures reveal.

The data shows that the percentage of people using DAB sets,
the internet, mobile phones and digital television to listen to listen to radio
stations are all massively up year on year. Those tuning in on DAB sets alone have
grown by a massive 68 per cent since this time last year.

In the battle for breakfast speech radio listeners, Nick
Ferrari on LBC 97.3 in London
was a big winner with weekly reach breaking the 400,000 barrier, up from
291,000 from this time last year. Both Radio 4’s Today programme and BBC 5Live’s Breakfast
lost listeners, down to 6.1 million and 2.3 million respectively – falls of 1.3
per cent and 3.5 per cent.
