Broadcaster Eamon Dunphy will begin his latest radio adventure as presenter of the morning show at Dublin’s NewsTalk 106.
He takes over from David McWilliams on 6 September.
A spokesperson said that McWilliams had put the station “on the map” and Dunphy is now tasked with “taking it to the next level”.
The programme will coincide with RTE’s flagship show, Morning Ireland, which has a listenership of 472,000.
The slot Dunphy takes over has a daily listenership of around 11,000.
The reported target for the Dunphy show is said to be an audience of between 70,000 and 100,000 initially.
