Digital magazine ABCs: Economist and lads’ mags on the up, mixed fortunes for celeb titles

Of the 90 digital editions audited by ABC for this period, 37 saw their circulations fall from the first half of 2014.

Celebrity magazines Now (down 40.8 per cent to 1,137), Reveal (down 36.8 per cent to 954), OK (down 32.5 per cent to 4,998), New (down 28.5 per cent to 3,561) and Hello (down 27.3 per cent to 4,792) were among the worst performing.

Other titles to see their digital circulations fall included Cosmopolitan (down 25.1 per cent to 4,905), Empire (down 12.5 per cent to 11,443), Men's Health (down 12 per cent to 9,113) and Women's Health (down 11.6 per cent to 5,261).

Unlike the celebrity titles above, Closer (up 93.1 per cent to 2,472) and Heat (up 76 per cent to 2,135) were among the best performing.

Lads' mags FHM and Zoo saw their digital circulations increase by 61.4 per cent to 5,486 and 57.1 per cent to 3,214 respectively.
