DAWN panel risesto the occasion

By Press Gazette

The first print media event run by the Dynamic Asian Women Network (DAWN) saw leading Asian journalists from the world of magazines and newspapers give their advice to hopefuls on getting their feet on the career ladder.

The evening heard speeches from an exclusive panel of speakers, who talked about their careers. Delegates already in the industry were also offered practical advice and guidance and given the chance to network.

The event was chaired by Parminder Vir, OBE, executive producer and diversity adviser to the chief executive of Carlton Television and a co-founder of DAWN. She said: “The aim of the evening was to entertain, educate, empower and have fun.”

Among the panellists were Sarwar Ahmed, publisher of Asiana magazine, Robina Dam, a regular contributor to the Daily Mail’s Femail supplement, and Eastern Eye editor Amar Singh.
