Cosmopolitan has launched a campaign to get young women voting in the next election, following the news that turnout in the 25-to-34 age group has decreased from 70 to 56 per cent.
The Cosmo High Heel Vote kicks off in the January issue, released this week, with a comment piece from Suzanne Moore.
Editor Sam Baker said: “When we talk to our readers about voting, the overwhelming message is they don’t feel any of the policies are relevant to them, so they switch off. We are determined to get women’s issues on the political agenda.”
The campaign will continue with interviews and analysis in the run up to the election.
