News International staff were thrilled recently to be corralled along to a presentation on their digital future.
With rumours abounding of redundancies – confirmed shortly afterwards – the mood was not altogether positive
But one job move that had not been anticipated was that of chief information officer Chris Taylor.
Bounding up to the stage, Taylor introduced himself to the assembled as “chief executive of News International” before hastily correcting himself to the general amusement of the assembled masses.
But with new head boy Mike Darcey still learning where the coffee machines are at NI headquarters, maybe Taylor knows something his boss doesn’t.
