“Cyber war” in Zimbabwe

ZANU PF’s blacklisting of 41 online publications, including CNN and Technorati’s websites, were met with scepticism by bloggers such as Ethan Zuckerman on My Heart’s in Accra  and those at Kubatana

While they claim that plans to launch cyber warfare may be greatly exaggerated, Zimdaily.com reports that the crackdown on online journalists is gaining momentum. The Harare government has instructed Zimbabwe’s Media and Information Commission (MIC) to revoke the accreditation of six freelance photo journalists stringing for foreign news agencies, it reports.
