Whilst trying to overthrow oppressive regimes around the globe Axegrinder imagines it is difficult to keep in touch with friends and family.
It can be a tricky proposition finding a Starbucks in the middle of a warzone offering free wifi to Skype the dearly beloved while recharging the caffeine reserves.
Now, though, Foreign Secretary William Hague has recognised this difficulty in Syria and has decided to send the rebel leadership in the Military Council £1 million worth of equipment – including mobile phones and other communications devices.
Hague assured Parliament: “Recipients have been carefully selected to prevent equipment being given to those involved in extremist activities or human rights violations."
He might also want to screen out those who have online subscriptions to the Guardian as they are unlikely to want to talk too much on a Government supplied mobile phone.
Or those who have searched on the internet for Trojan equine matters.
