Full colour for Sporting Star
For
the first time in its 86-year history the West Midlands Sporting Star
has been printed in full colour. The switch meant that fans of Wolves,
Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Walsall, Kidderminster Harriers and
Tipton Town football clubs could see colour pictures of their teams in
action just 35 minutes after the last game was played. To create the
Saturday edition an extra 80 plates had to be processed including 40
after the last game had finished. To make sure the pink paper was the
first to hit the streets, an extra press was used at both sites and
there was an extra print crew of eight.
