Rob Cole, producer on the BBC Six O’Clock News, has been poached by Sky News to be its foreign editor.
Cole has been a news producer for the past two years and prior to that was a world duty editor for four years. Before joining the BBC in 1997, Cole worked for WPTN for three years as a foreign ?eld producer, covering con?icts in Bosnia, Rwanda, Zaire and Chechnya. He has also been an output editor for Reuters, and worked in newspapers for 10 years.
Adrian Wells, Sky News’s head of foreign news and a former BBC colleague, said Cole was the “ideal candidate” for such a senior position, “because he had ?eld experience with agencies, running a news desk and programme making experience. We’re delighted to have poached him.”
