Winners revealed in PPA Awards

In Style: best consumer magazine

In Style won the award for best consumer magazine while Building picked up the prize for best B2B weekly at the Periodical Publishing Association Awards on Wednesday night.

It was a double celebration for Building, which also won the award for best B2B editor.

The judges said Building editor Adrian Barrick had “taken the publication to new heights” and praised In Style for its choice of pictures and attention to detail on each page.

Closer editor Jane Johnson was named editor of the year in consumer magazines. The judges praised Closer for its “consistent high quality” and Johnson’s “lack of ego”.
Financial Director was named best B2B monthly magazine, Uncut won the award for consumer specialist magazine and Home was voted customer magazine of the year.

E Jane Dickson, Radio Times, was named writer of the year (consumer) and Alastair McLellan of Health Service Journal was named writer of the year (B2B). Raymond Seitz, Condé Nast Traveller, won specialist writer (consumer) and PC Pro’s Steve Cassidy was best B2B magazine columnist.

Designer of the year (consumer) went to Rob Biddulph of NME and Jeremy Leslie from M-Real took the prize in the B2B category.
