Top Of The Pops magazine is to go from monthly to fortnightly in April, putting it in direct competition with Emap’s Smash Hits.
The BBC Magazines title is the bestselling teen entertainment mag in the UK, with a circulation of over 200,000.
Smash Hits is the fourth best seller with a circulation of just over 120,000.

Hart, previously editor of sister title It’s HOT! , has been taken on
as editor, and former editor Corinna Shaffer has been promoted to
editorial director for the whole youth portfolio.
Alfie Lewis,
Publisher of TOTP Magazine, said moving to a fortnightly frequency
would “see the magazine make even more of an impact.”
