Total Film magazine gets two new editors

By Press Gazette

Nev Peirce has stepped up to become editor of Total Film and parent company Future has also appointed Aubrey Ganguly (pictured) to the newly-created role of editor-in-chief across its film and TV titles.

Ganguly will help develop Tital Film and sister consumer magazines DVD Review and SFX as well as B2B titles TimeCode and Home Entertainment Weekly.

As part of the new role, Ganguly will work with publisher Simon Maxwell to develop brand extensions – including the annual Total Film 100, a collectors edition of the existing magazine.

Pierce rejoined Future for his second stint on Total Film in 2004 as reviews editor and was promoted to deputy editor in 2005. He previously worked at BBC Online and has contributed to magazines including DVD Review, FHM and current affairs title, Third Way.

Former editor Mark Dinning, who only strarted in June last year, is leaving Future.

Maxwell said:

“By creating the new editor-in-chief role for our expanding film and TV portfolio, we are able to maximise our opportunities across both consumer and trade markets – giving film studios and advertisers a way to effectively plan a campaign across the whole market. Aubrey has a successful track record at Future in helping to grow our magazines, and his new position is central to the development of the portfolio.”
