One of the great figures of speech radio, TalkSport presenter Mike Dickin, has died in a road accident.
Dickin, who has presented a regular show on TalkSport since its launch in 1995 as Talk Radio, died near his home in Cornwall yesterday. He was recently the host of the station's late night phone-in.
He was famous for his strongly held views, which earned him the title of “Britain’s Angriest Man” by talkSport listeners.
Dickin joined the BBC in 1970 as the first presenter on air at Radio Oxford. After a stint in Australia, he returned to the UK in the late seventies, working for BBC Radio 4, LBC and Capital Radio.
