Stuff hires multimedia team to boost online presence

By Press Gazette

Stuff.tv, the online arm of Haymarket’s gadget magazine, Stuff, has been relaunched with two new staff to work purely in multimedia.

The site now has a buyers’ guide with top 10 product lists in 50 categories, and has increased its video content.

Stuff online editor Linsey Frayatt told Press Gazette: ‘The relaunch really forces Stuff.tv into an identity. While we will cover the same product releases to a certain extent, it will be in a very different way – tailored for the web experience. We’re not so much an online arm of the magazine any more – we’re our own entity.”

As well as the two new multimedia journalists – who will be producing video and audio – there are four other staff working solely on the website.

The magazine’s print edition has 12 editorial staff.

As well as a weekly Stuff-branded online TV show, the site will now include video reviews of new products each week.

Frayatt said the title had further plans for the future of Stuff.tv. ‘We’d like to get our users more involved,’she said. ‘Any website has to be an interactive experience, so the more we can actually engage our readers and have their voices heard, the better.”
