The National Association of Press Agencies has elected Mark Solomons as its new chairman to replace Chris Johnson.
Solomons, joint owner of Specialist News Services and previously vice-chairman of the organisation, was voted in at Napa's AGM in London. Johnson steps down after six years to become vice-chairman. Solomons said: "The next year or so has the potential to be a marvellous period for agencies, newspapers and magazines whose real strength lies in their content. But we have to ensure that while newspapers recognise agencies are their lifeblood, they do not bleed us dry when it comes to paying for the service they demand."
