Slingsby is new editor of Coalville Times

By Press Gazette

Former acting editor of the Newport and Market Drayton Advertiser Robyn Slingsby has been named editor of the Coalville Times.

Based in Coalville, Slingsby will now overlook the weekly Times newspaper, as well as the free paper, the North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire Leader.

Slingsby, 26, joins the Times from Shropshire Newspapers, where she began her career on the Ludlow and South Shropshire Journal. There she became assistant editor of the awardwinning North Shropshire Chronicle and acting editor of the Newport and Market Drayton Advertiser.

She said: "It has always been my ambition to be an editor and now I have the chance to inject some new life into the Times and turn it into a real community newspaper."

The Coalville Times, in Leicestershire, has a paid-for circulation of 10,274.
