Sky News’s Mapstone to join More4

By Press Gazette

David Mapstone has been appointed senior programme editor, More4 News.

Mapstone replaces Will Thorne who moved to become assistant editor of Channel 4 News in late 2006.

Thorne will continue to retain managerial oversight for More4 News, with Mapstone assuming a hands-on team leadership role, with responsibility for creative and team development.

Mapstone is currently an executive producer at Sky News, where he has had responsibility for the nightly 8pm to 10pm programme for the past year, and also for World News specials presented by James Rubin.

Before joining Sky, he was editor of the weekly Jonathan Dimbleby programme and worked across a number of documentaries and specials for Channel 4 and ITV.

Mapstone is currently involved in a major project for Sky and is expected to take up his new role at More4 News in mid/late-March.
