Rob Singh to cover crime at Evening Standard

Rob Singh is stepping into Richard Edwards’ role as crime reporter at the Evening Standard.

Singh has been working as a general news reporter on the Standard and the London Lite since 2004.

He has previously worked as a reporter on a number of regional newspapers, including the Colchester Gazette, the Kentish Town Gazette and the Romford Recorder.

He said: “It’s something I was interested in getting my teeth into, a more specialist subject.

"I’m proud to have been chosen for the role but also hope to leave my own mark.”

Other people moves this week

• Future has appointed Russell James editor of Your Family Tree. He was previously deputy editor of MacFormat and takes over from Garrick Webster, who edited the magazine for 51 issues. The title's circulation hit a new high of over 20,000 for the first time in the last ABCs.

• Josa Young has been appointed executive editor of Condé Nast Interactive. She will oversee editorial content on all the sites produced by this division within Condé Nast Publications UK, including GQ.com, Glamour.com and Vogue.com. Most recently, Young was working as acting features editor on Vogue and then Tatler.
