Essex Enquirer reporter Gina Marden took to the skies over the Bank Holiday weekend in a wing-walking exercise for the paper’s regular “Learn How To…” feature.
She nominated herself to join Utterly Butterly Wingwalkers at the Southend Airshow and flew 500 feet high at 100 miles per hour while strapped into a chair attached to the top wing of a 1940s Boeing Stearman biplane.
Marden said: “I was either brave or stupid but either way I had an absolutely brilliant time and screamed all the way.
