Reporter dies after 70 years on same paper

By Press Gazette

A reporter who worked at the Herts Advertiser for nearly 70 years has died at the age of 86.

Beryl Carrington worked under eight of the Advertiser’s 12 editors.

family’s connection goes back even further, with her father Harry
becoming chief reporter in 1896. Her brother also worked on the paper
as did her nephew, who moved to the Gulf as a press officer.
