Relaunched Teletext hires production editor

By Press Gazette

Matt Long has joined Teletext as its new production editor.

Long, 39, joins the TV information service from The Argus, Brighton, where he was night editor.

He will be responsible for overseeing production of all of Teletext's in-house entertainment, holidays, lifestyle and general public-service output, as well as running front pages and cross-promotion on all services.

He joins as Teletext relaunches with a new marketing campaign and new services on web and digital TV.

Long's previous jobs have included sub-editor on the Daily Mirror, assistant design editor of the Liverpool Echo, and subbing/design roles on the Sunday Sun and Evening Chronicle, Newcastle.

Teletext editor-in-chief John Sage said: "Matt arrives as our production is expanding well beyond TV text subbing, although that remains the core of our output.

"He will bring great subbing experience and editorial judgement to our team."
