Dick Durham has promoted to features editor of Yachting Monthly.
He joined the title as news editor in May 2001 having spent the previous 20 years as a Fleet Street journalist. He has written four books, including Magician of the Swatchways, a biography of former Yachting Monthly editor Maurice Griffiths.
Mike Kopman, who joined Yachting Monthly a year ago, has been promoted from technical writer to technical editor. He will be responsible for the testing programme for new boats and equipment, as well as overseeing buyers’ guides. Kopman previously worked as a professional yacht skipper and has 70,000 offshore miles behind him as an Ocean Yachtmaster.
Yachting Monthly editor Paul Gelder said: “I am delighted to make these promotions which recognise the talent and enthusiasm in our team. They will undoubtedly strengthen Yachting Monthly’s in-depth coverage of the sailing scene.”
