The Sun Online has introduced a new desktop news widget featuring a popular Page 3 model.
‘Desktop Keeley’is a mini-application that users can download to their PCs to be alerted to new content on the website. It features model Keeley Hazell clicking her fingers to alert users of new items in news, sport, showbiz and Page 3 feeds.
More than 10,000 people have downloaded the widget in four days since it was soft-launched, breaking a record set by The Sun’s Facebook application, Sun Online editorial manager Danny Rogers told Press Gazette.
The widget was created by digital agency Glue by filming the model against a green screen, to create the effect of the model walking across users’ computer desktops, dressed in what The Sun called ‘suitably saucy underwear”.
Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the number of days it took for the “Desktop Keeley” widget to be downloaded 10,000 times. It was four days, not 24.
