OK! expands into Mexico and Russia

By Press Gazette

Richard Desmond’s celebrity weekly OK! is launching new editions in Mexico and Russian which will bring the number of versions of the magazine to 12.

Northern and Shell International Operations Director Christian Toksvig said: “With the launch of new editions in two of the world’s most exciting media markets, OK! is cementing its position as the global gold standard in celebrity journalism.

“Mexico marks our first entry into the important Spanish-speaking markets, and Russia is emerging as a glamorous celebrity hub in its own right. The two new launches come at a time where OK! UK is holding its long-time lead in a very competitive market; OK! Australia has just increased its frequency from monthly to weekly in response to reader demand; and OK! USA has just enjoyed its first newsstand sale of one million copies, making it the fastest growing weekly title in America.”

OK! Mexico has initial print run of 110,000 and the OK! Russia has a print run of 135,000 supported by a claimed $3.5 million marketing spend.

OK! now claims 25 million readers through its editions in: Australia, China, Greece, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Middle East, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, United Kingdom and the United States.
