Ogundehin: due to take over as editor of Elle Decoration next month

Interiors title Elle Decoration has named Michelle Ogundehin as its new editor. Ogundehin, is currently editor at large on Elle Deco and will replace former editor Rachel Loos, who quit to pursue a new life in France.

Ogundehin began her journalistic career 10 years ago on the launch of Tate Art Magazine before moving to Blueprint and later Elle Deco, where she became features director. She has worked on Elle Deco for seven years, holding the post of editor at large since 1999.

She founded her own interior design and creative direction consultancy, MO:Studio, in April 2000, and has also written for The Observer Magazine, Elle, The Sunday Times Style magazine, Time Out and Arena, and has produced editorial and marketing campaigns for clients such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Habitat and Marks & Spencer.

Elle Deco’s owner, Hachette, said it was her creative vision and commercial savvy which won her the job.

Ogundehin said: “This is a very exciting time to be in interiors and I relish the opportunity to share my dedication and build on everything that Rachel and her team have already magnificently achieved.”

She starts her new job on 17 May.
