Observer Music appoints deputy

By Press Gazette

Luke Bainbridge, editorial director of City Life, has been appointed deputy editor of Observer Music Monthly.

Bainbridge has been editorial director and editor of the Manchester magazine since 1999. He has been a contributor to The Guardian’s Guide for the past four years, and has freelanced for The Sunday Times’s Style and Condé Nast’s Trash. He has also been involved with music festivals.

OMM launches in September and will be edited by Caspar Llewellyn Smith, previously assistant editor of the Telegraph Magazine.

Observer editor Roger Alton said: “Luke’s journalistic experience, combined with his knowledge of the music industry, will enable him to make a significant contribution to the development of OMM.”
