Oborne out as Spectator political editor

New Spectator editor Matthew D’Ancona has announced a strnig of new appointments, including moving Peter Oborne from the position of political editor to become a contributing editor.

Oborne will “write longer articles on politics and society both in Britain and abroad,” D’Ancona said.

Fraser Nelson has been appointed the magazine’s new political editor after joining as associate editor in February.

Meanwhile, business editor Martin Vander Weyer will oversee the expansion of the magazine’s coverage of the City, economic issues and investment analysis, while Lucia Van der Post becomes editor of a new section – “You Earned It” – “chronicling and celebrating the fashions, trends and luxuries of modern life”.

Jemima Lewis, consultant editor of The Week, has also been appointed contributing editor.
