The NUJ staged a counter-demonstration on Monday after the British National Party held a protest outside the union’s headquarters in London. The BNP, which aimed its protest at “politically correct” journalists with “an anti-white bias”, was outnumbered by NUJ supporters. In a statement, the NUJ said: “The BNP does not believe in free and balanced reporting. The BNP uses physical threats to try to intimidate journalists. We will resist all intimidation by the BNP.”
