New ‘green’ lifestyle title is all set to lunch

By Press Gazette

A quarterly style magazine, based on living the good life while being environmentally aware, is hoping to entice advertisers with bespoke advertising.

Lunch, the work of former Vogue and Wallpaper* writer Karen Chung, marries the ideal of sustainable living to a lifestyle format with a blend of features on charity fundraising, social enterprise and ethical consumerism, designed by Herbert Winkler, the original art director on Wallpaper*.

Editor Chung said the idea came as a direct response to environmental titles currently available that “preach to the converted”.

She said: “There was nothing that brought all that thinking about sustainability and the environment together and wrapped it up in a big delicious package that would make you want to get involved.

“Lunch is looking at charities, but without being really worthy and berating you for making the wrong choices. It’s saying you can be empowered, live a good life and actually not have to suffer in the process.” The first issue doesn’t carry advertising, but Chung hopes that the title will take on advertisers who are willing to let the title create integrated adverts.

Lunch has a print run of 5,000 and will be available in a number of London outlets or through the website industryofchung.com.
