The first global women's business magazine has launched in a bid to portray successful women in business as the norm, writes Feven Solomon.
Shattered, a monthly title for women written mainly by women, promises to provide news and information on banking, finance, science, technology, law, industry and media, and plans on being the forum for women's opinions.
Readers can expect hard-hitting contents that would be found in publications such as BusinessWeek, Forbes, and Fortune — the only difference is that it will be aimed at women.
Shattered is published by a privately owned New York-based company with an office in London, employing eight staff.
The title hopes to attract an estimated 75,000 readers and will distribute the magazine through banks, investment banks, professional women's associations, universities and business schools in London, the US, Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong.
"Coverage of women in business tends to focus on a few female corporate superstars or the difficulties women face in juggling career and family," said publisher and editor-in-chief Julie Ros.
"There are no titles that portray successful women in business as the norm. Shattered is that magazine. It will focus on successful women across industries worldwide," said Ros.
