Nat Mags does housekeeping, steals Chunn

By Press Gazette

The National Magazine Company has poached In Style editor Louise Chunn for the prestigious editor’s role at Good Housekeeping, following the promotion of previous editor-in-chief Lindsay Nicholson to editorial director of the company last year.

Chunn, above, a former Vogue deputy and ex-editor of the Evening Standard’s ES Magazine, brought in nearly 500,000 readers to In Style during her four-year editorship, and is likely to be hard to replace for publisher IPC.

In February’s ABCs the fashion title recorded a monthly average sale of 196,857, up 3.1 per cent year on year, compared to sales drops for many magazines in the same market.

She joins Good Housekeeping at a high point in its long history, with an ABC figure of 468,579, up 7.7 per cent.

Last summer, it recorded its highest sixmonthly sales figure since 1996.

Chunn said: "I am excited to be joining Good Housekeeping at this time. It feels so relevant and so much part of the zeitgeist and I can’t wait to get started."
