Move for Pole Fishing

By Press Gazette

DHP’s Advanced Pole Fishing magazine has moved to monthly production from bi-monthly and is beginning to expand editorially as it continues to grow from strength to strength.

Patrick MacInnes, left, a passionate pole fisherman, has been appointed editor of the magazine and 18-year-old Mark Williams, who has been fishing since the age of four, has been made editorial assistant.

MacInnes worked on the title for 18 months as editorial assistant to the former editor, fishing champion Dave Wesson.

Wesson has returned to Australia.

MacInnes said: “This is my dream job and it has come at a good time as the market is buoyant, with pole fishing becoming more and more popular.

I’m really pleased to be able to share my enthusiasm with the readers.”

MacInnes started his career on the South Yorkshire News in Doncaster, before working on Total Carp magazine, also a DHP title. Williams was studying fisheries management before being offered the job on Advanced Pole Fishing.
