Mollenkamp to cover City for WSJ

By Press Gazette

The Wall Street Journal Europe has appointed London-based Carrick
Mollenkamp as its lead European investment-banking correspondent
covering the City of London and the banking industry in the United
Kingdom.

He succeeds Erik Portanger, who left the paper late last year.

Mollenkamp, 35, joined The Wall Street Journal in 1997 as a reporter for the Southeast regional edition, based in Atlanta.

In 1999, he began covering large banks in the southern US, including Bank of America and Wachovia.

Mollenkamp is a native of Atlanta and attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia. He previously worked for Bloomberg News.
