Meridian TV news is on the move

By Press Gazette

ITV’s Meridian Television news operation in the Southeast has found a new home at the old premises of its predecessor, TVS.

Its regional editorial team and camera crews will move to Maidstone Studios, at Vinters Park, Kent, as part of a reorganisation that will see the company’s New Hythe and Southampton sites close and a new regional production centre open at Whitely in Hampshire by the end of the year.

Journalists said they were “not remotely surprised” by the move and many on the news team were already familiar with the location.

ITV Meridian’s managing director, Lindsay Charlton, said Maidstone Studios was chosen because it is a “modern building with good motorway access in the heart of our Southeast news area”.
