A cheque for £65,000 was handed over to NPF: the Journalists’ Charity at a lunch in Glasgow at which former Foreign Secretary Robin Cook was the main speaker. The cheque represented a year’s fundraising by the NPF’s Glasgow and West Scotland district. The sum was raised from various events, including a pantomime, a press ball and a lunch attended by the BBC’s former special correspondent, Kate Adie. It is the second year running that the Glasgow and West Scotland district has raised £65,000 for the NPF.
