James Stewart beats Redford and Hoffman

By Press Gazette

I think this must be an age thing (which is probably why I’m so slow
in writing)n but when it comes to the best newspaper movies, does
nobody else remember The Day The Earth Caught Fire with Edward Judd as
the reporter and Arthur Christiansen – the real Arthur Christiansen –
as the editor faced with the end of the world? Or Call Northside 777
with Jimmy Stewart as the crusading reporter? That one drew me into the
newspaper business.

After 15 years as a film reviewer, I would
elect All The President’s Men as Most Boring Movie Ever. Turgid is a
good word for it.
