The Iranian government has closed down two opposition newspapers, according to Associated Press.
The agency reported that the move was an attempt to silence dissent over the way Iran handled recent nuclear talks with the West.
One of the papers which has been closed is Iran's most prominent reformist daily, Shargh, which ran a cartoon on Thursday which was interpreted as ridiculing the Government.
The Iranian National Press Agency has also reported that political monthly Nameh (The Letter) has been closed.
The paper is believed to have been closed because it published a poem by a dissident female poet.
