Gary Gibbon has been
appointed political editor of Channel 4 News, taking over from Elinor
Goodman who is leaving the programme this summer after 23 years.

Gibbon has been Channel 4 News’ political
correspondent since 1995. He has reported extensively on the peace
process in Northern Ireland and made special reports on the
intelligence and legal background to the Iraq war.

had received letters and calls from fans begging for Gibbon to take
