Yachting Monthly magazine has promoted deputy editor Paul Gelder to editor.
Gelder, above, joined the magazine in 1990 as features editor, having started his career as a junior reporter on local paper the Barnet Press, which he later edited before going to edit West Sussex Gazette.
He will replace former editor Sarah Norbury, who left Yachting Monthly to edit Practical Boat Owner magazine.
Jessica Daw, publisher of IPC Marine Media, said Gelder had an excellent background in journalism and good contacts.
Gelder said there were no plans for a relaunch. “We are changing all the time. You can’t stand still these days,” he said.
