Garden Writers’ Guild honours Alan Titchmarsh

Alan Titchmarsh has become the youngest ever recipient of the Garden Writers’ Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.

At 55, he is author of over 40 gardening books and has presented many BBC TV gardening series over the last 25 years. He regularly writes for BBC Gardeners’ World magazine, Express Newspapers and the Radio Times .

Other winners included: TV broadcast of the year, Royal Gardeners, BBC Bristol; Radio broadcast of the year, Gardeners’ Question Time Summer Garden Party, BBC Radio 4; Website of the year, RHS Online (www.rhs.org.uk) edited by Geoff Hodge; Photographer of the year: David Lloyd; Features photographer of the year, Jonathan Buckley for his work in Meadows by Christopher Lloyd; Photographers’ choice award, Anne Green-Armytage; Magazine of the year, Kitchen Garden, edited by Andrew Blackford; Journalist of the year, Phil Clayton for a series of articles in The Garden; Practical journalist of the year, Sue Stickland, Kitchen Garden; News journalist of the year,Joanna Whittingham, The Garden Trade; Journalist of the year, Chris Young, Garden Design Journal
