FT’s Lex expands

By Press Gazette

By Jean Morgan

The Financial Times has expanded its influential Lex column, filling
half of the back page of the main section of the paper. The Lex team
has been increased to nine writers – five based in London, three in New
York and one in Tokyo.

Carrying more global Lex notes every day, the column, edited by Dan Bogler, now sports a “Number in the News”

graphic, highlighting an eye-catching Lex statistic.

The
Lex page on FT.com is also being enhanced with new features, including
the ability to vote for the Lex of the week, a Lex investment
navigator, Lex calculators and a Lex-only search engine.

FT
editor Andrew Gowers said: “More coverage and an expanded team of
talented writers will allow readers to have more of the must-read
comment, both in print and online, while the new Lex features on FT.com
will serve as everyday business tools for our readers around the world.”

● Simon London has been made management editor of the FT, reporting on all aspects of management and technology.

He will also be responsible for a weekly management column.

London joined the FT in 1999 and has been capital markets reporter, Lex reporter and personal finance editor.
