The Italy-based freelance who exposed the causes of racing driver Ayrton Senna’s fatal crash has died suddenly aged 39.
Alec Marr filed copy for a host of publications, but most often for The People and the News of the World in the UK and for The Globe and the National Enquirer in the US. He was visiting brother Neil Marr, also a journalist, in the south of France, when he died of a heart attack in his sleep on Monday night. He was a diabetic.
His funeral was in Monaco on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and three children.
