Former Cosmo chief takes over at B

By Press Gazette

Nina Ahmad, former deputy editor of Cosmopolitan , has been appointed new editor of Hachette’s women’s glossy, B.

She
joins from Northern & Shell’s Happy , due out this year, where she
has been helping oversee the launch as executive editor.

Before
Happy , Ahmad was acting editor of Cosmopolitan for two terms in 2002
and 2003, during the maternity leave of then editor Lorraine Candy.

She spearheaded Cosmo’s Rapestoppers campaign, winning campaign of the year at the BSME awards 2003.

Ahmad has also been deputy editor of Marie Claire Health & Beauty and deputy women’s editor at The Sun .

Julie
Harris, general manager of Hachette’s women’s magazine group, said:
“Nina’s extensive editorial background makes her perfectly placed to
take B on to its next stage of development.”

Ahmad said the new post would be “a great challenge”. Previous editor Frances Sheen left last month for a job at Emap Australia.

B
relaunched last July and has shown a 30 per cent sales increase in the
last six months to 166,145, although sales have remained steady
year-on-year.
