Farewell David Beckham

By Press Gazette

Future has bid farewell to David Beckham by dedicating the first of a new series of special editions to him, writes Ruth Addicott.

Farewell David Beckham – The United Years 1991-2003 has been released as a spin off by the team on United, the official magazine of Manchester United.

The 132-page title will target Beckham fans and act as a complete collector’s guide to Becks’s career, from humble beginnings as a fresh-faced wannabe to stardom as a global football icon.

It includes fly-on-the-wall photography, Becks’s first and last major interviews as a Man United player, an exclusive report on his France 98 “nightmare” and his views on playing for England and moving from United to Real Madrid.

Group publisher Jim Douglas said: “There was no shortage of ‘Goodbye Becks’ coverage in the press when the announcement was finally made, but we’re in a unique position as the publisher of the official Manchester United magazine to present fans with a high-quality souvenir of David’s time at the club.” “We couldn’t have got our series of specials off to a better start,” he added.
