Charity seeks editor for new launch

By Press Gazette

Environmental charity Global Action Plan is looking for an editor to launch its new magazine Changes later this year.

Changes will be an A4-sized lifestyle-based magazine about environmental issues, with up to 24 pages.

It will initially be published three times a year but the charity is hoping to increase its frequency to quarterly. Publications officer Gavin Ellis said Changes would have a conversational tone and feature articles on DIY, cooking and gardening with "a subtle green angle".

It will be distributed to members of Global Action Plan and it is expected to have a print run of 20,000.

Ellis said he hoped Changes would be a major focal point for members. "The idea is to get people to make small changes to their lifestyle, such as switching off the lights etc," he said.

Once an editor is on board, Ellis said there would be opportunities for freelances. There are also plans to set up an editorial board.

The charity works with a number of schools and businesses across the UK, including Halifax and Nationwide. It is believed to be the first time it has launched a magazine.

Changes is due to launch at the end of September.
